Karni Mata Temple Deshnoke is one of the most revered places
in Rajasthan. Karni Mata Temple Deshnoke is around 30 km south
of Bikaner on the Jodhpur road. Karni Mata Mandir in Deshnoke
(Bikaner) is dedicated to Karni Mata.
Located near Noksha, the temple is built with stone and marble.
The Karni Mata Mandir Bikaner houses the image of Karni Mata,
an incarnation of Goddess Durga, along with her sisters and
also the sisters of Avad Mata. The massive silver gates of
the temple were given by Maharaja Ganga Singh. You will find
brown rats running in the Garbha Graha (sanctum sanatorium)
of the temple. Rats are called kabas. Offering food to them
is regarded auspicious. Spotting white rats in the temple
is considered as good omen.
The Karni Mata Mandir Deshnoke is a 600 years old temple.
Devotees in large quantity throng the temple to seek the blessings
of the deity. Karni Mata Fair lit up the entire temple and
makes the ambience more divine and holy. Karni Mata Fair is
celebrated twice a year. Devotees from far-flung areas throng
the site during the Karni Mata Fair. The fair held in the
months of April-May and October-November.
Karni Mata Mandir Deshnokee has become one of the important
pilgrim centers in Rajasthan. During the Karni Mata Fair,
the temple opens from 4:00 am for devotees to offer prayers.
